[How-To] Shopify Dropshipping Product Research for 2021.
Greetings,
I'm here to share my Shopify Dropshipping Product Research Method and answer any related questions.
Here's what I've managed to do recently with these exact methods.

Overall Net Profit on this store was roughly 25%.

Facebook Ad Spend for the store above.
A Little about me - I've been dropshipping since 2017. Originally I learned from a member here on HF. His name was "Squalo".
When I was younger I wish I would have stumbled across a post like the one I am writing.
I want to be the help I wish I had when I was starting out. If you're hungry. This is for you.
What is a "Winning" Product?
Winning products are hired to help customers accomplish a task or solves a problem. This could be a Primal, Emotional, Efficiency or Social Value.
Primal Values:
- Survival, Lifespan Longevity, Reciprocity, Pleasure, Pain Avoidance, Fear.
Emotional Values:
- Personal Wellness, Empathy, Reward, Nostalgia.
Efficiency Values:
- Friction Reduction, Simple Access, Targeted Information, Financial Savings.
Social Values:
- Social Hierarchy, Trends, Clan Incorporation.
To successfully sell a product you will need to find a winner curate a message and deliver an experience that solves your customers problem.
The more values your chosen product has, the more likely it is to be a super winner. 🤑
How do you find a "Winning" Product?
There are many product research methods. Most of them work well. Personally, I use a combination of Facebook News Feed, Ad Spy and Aliexpress.
Facebook News Feed :
While scrolling down on Facebook I will like, comment and tag in any advertisement that is viral.
After that, I will click on the account that posted the ad and like the page that posted it. This way I will keep getting their retargeting ads.
I'll go back to the ad and check the comments to see if they are real people. It's also very important that there is a good amount of recent comments.
I'm usually looking at any ad that has over 1k likes, and has recent comments usually at least between 3-10 comments today. More is better.
Something like this is what you're looking for.
![[Image: EW-003.jpg]](https://i.ibb.co/t49G8XT/EW-003.jpg)
When you see comments being posted like that, it's a really good sign. It means that they're still actively running paid ads.
You can double check by going into the Page Transparency tool located on the left side of their profile page.
It looks like this :
![[Image: momo-001.jpg]](https://i.ibb.co/X2gk8tc/momo-001.jpg)
After you click on see all and then click "go to ad library". You will be able to see every ad that this page is currently running.

As you can see this product is winning for someone. Why not you? That should be your mentality when looking for winning products.
Don't constantly try to reinvent the wheel.
Verify trends before testing your product!
Now you need to verify the trend is spiking or increasing. Don't try to test a product when the trend is on a downtrend or a decline. Some products don't need a trend to sell well.
Open up Google and head over to Google trends. using the product above as an example, you could type light up tree or LED tree light. But it's best to be a little more generic. Like "Night Light". Here are the trend results -
-Note- I got the term nightlight from the comments on the original ad. Always read the comments...
![[Image: momo-003.jpg]](https://i.ibb.co/vZsr9Pq/momo-003.jpg)
This is what you want to see from a trend.
You either want it to be going up, or it to be up already. That way you see the audience for your product is there.
It's just a matter of picking the right product for that particular audience.
The next thing you should do is check aliexpress to make sure it has a good amount of sales volume. I check sales volume in the aliexpress dropshipping center.
You just need the URL from the aliexpress vendor page, and then paste that link into the "product analysis" tab.
![[Image: momo-004.jpg]](https://i.ibb.co/Npm1yR3/momo-004.jpg)
You should see a graph like this one. It shows you the volume over the last 30 days.
The graph above is saying the seller did most their orders yesterday, representing the 100%.
Since the listing has 8000+ Orders itself. You can safely assume that this % is at least 25+ orders per day.
If at this point your product sales volume is low, or the trend is dying or declining you need to go back to searching Facebook, or adspy for other potential products to verify. Keep liking, commenting and tagging posts to see more engaging ads.
Here is a shopify dashboard of a product I found on my feed just this month using the exact method I've outlined here. The ads were going viral, I made my store and ads look much better than theirs.
![[Image: momo-005.jpg]](https://i.ibb.co/4T411zh/momo-005.jpg)
While it's not as impressive as the first dashboard i've shared with you.
It's worth noting that Dropshipping is not easy. Most products will only be "C" and "B" class winners. Only some will be your "A" Winners($100k+).
That's why I run multiple stores because 250$ per day, each store is substantial.😎
If you have any questions about Product Research or anything related to the post, I'd be happy to answer.
Also, If you found this post helpful let me know.
I'd love to make guides on shopify store design and Facebook Ad Scaling as well if this post is helpful! ✌ -SEO
